Here is a very recent show, that came out last month on Netflix. They dropped it just like that, a whole first season, and I was curious enough to check out the pilot episode… And here I was, a few days later, 100% in love with it.
Sense8 is a show created by the Wachowskis and J. Michael Straczynski, that enters in the genre of drama, science fiction and/or fantasy. The story is about eight different people all around the world with no apparent link whatsoever, who start getting the same visions and feeling each other’s senses during short periods of time. We follow these persons’ lives as they work out what’s happening to them, why, and how they can use it. To this day, Sense8 has 1 season of 12 episodes, lasting about 42 minutes each.
As soon as I watched the pilot episode, I knew Sense8 was going to be one of my favorite shows. It usually takes me at least 3-4 episodes to get into a TV show, but there, I was convinced after only a few minutes.
There are many things to love about this show : for one, it is a pleasure to watch, because of the way it is shot. The actors are incredibly talented, which makes the show feel incredibly real. The characters are diverse: they have different cultures, different sexualities (or can we define them all as pansexual?), different ways of living, of thinking, and you will probably get attached to them more quickly than you’ll know.
… I’ll leave the trailer here.
